Plant ID and care tips - SOLVED: the Madagascar Jewel Options

I got this in Washington state and brought it down to Los Angeles. It was doing fine until I re-potted it and now it's looking very wilty. The leaves usually are spread out 90 degrees or more from the trunk.

Any help identifying this plant would be greatly appreciated so I can figure out what it needs to be happy. It has a succulent-looking body with five furry-edged sides.
