There is something digging in all of the house plants that we have. It does not matter where they are...high or low. We have placed traps in case it is a mouse...to no avail. There are no other signs that it is a mouse. Any ideas on what could be digging small holes in the dirt??

Eeek!How big are the holes, markings its leaving? Do you have a cat, dog?

It could be a number of things from a big beetle in the dirt to a mole (sort of mouse like) without seeing the little pest its hard to tell.
Did you buy the plant from a reputable garden center?
Where do you live?
If you re-potted the plant recently where did you get the soil?
Did you have the pot outside recently?
