I am looking for an interesting flower pot to put in my apartment and I came across an idea while in a home improvement store. I saw a piece of pvc pipe that was about 10" in diameter and was available in lengths of up to 10 feet. I was wondering if house plants would grow/thrive in a 6 ft tall pvc pipe that had holes cut in it with some kind of cup around the hole to store extra soil and water. I have seen strawberries growing in a clay pot that was similar to this. I want to train the plants to grow up and around the pvc pipe.

I would think a layered stand with multiple plants would give a nice look, Otherwise a tree or larger plant would do nicely.
