Hi Folks!
I have potted plants and herbs on the balcony of my apartment. It takes in full sun for about 4-6 hours and partial for about an additional 4.
I have:
Nasturtium Sweet Pea Sage Cosmos Basil Dill Aubrieta
They've all started out growing fast but now - aside from the Basil - they'ev seemed to slow down considerably.
Also, my biggest concern is that the leaves are drying out. The Nasturtium had great juice red flowers spouting out at amazing speeds only for me to go check them a day or two later to see they've dried out.
a. I've pull the dried petals and/or leaves off. Is that okay?
b. How can I keep the petals/leaves from turning and drying out?
c. What general rules am I not following to keep my plants growing.
d. Also, I'm not actually using pots. I'm using the plant cups that favor thin cardboard. Should I plant them all in terra cotta pots?
e. Also, how much water is too much and too little?
Please do not hesitate to reply; I'd appreciate mulitple replies even if they repeat another. Totally lost here.
Thanks

Many of your plants are sunny plants and should be thriving. Depending on how much water you are doing, it may be either too little water or too much water. Also, if the pot size is small, that can also effect how much water the plant may need.

Thank you. I appreciate the response. I will admit that I get a bit neglectful and they'll go a day without water.
How moist should the soil be?
For instance, Monday afternoon I water them to where the pot dish collects water. On Tuesday, I can press on the soil and my finger is slightly wet. Should I water again or let a day go by?

please do not blame me if this kills ur plants, i am as new to this as it seems u are, but i THINK i remember hearing that you dont want to water plants all the time, its ok for the soil to dry out some. think of it like drowning the roots vrs starving them, you want a happy medium depending on the plants... i dont really know? but sounds like a water thing?
