I don't know what type of plant I have but clipped it from a large one I rec'd as a gift & transpotted it. Noticed in the soil white tiny tiny worms wiggling around and the soil was moldy on top so don't know if I overwatered it and now I have these guests.Put dishsoap and water in it and haven't noticed anything yet but just wondered if I should just through it out and start again.

The preence of both mold and critters in your soil are a pretty good indication that your potting soil is not good quality. Although, neither the mold nor the bugs are likely to damage your plant, the poor soil quality may damage the roots.<br>

A better potting mix choice is a soilless, peat-based mix that is sterile, pest-free, and properly porous.<br>

I read your reply about the mold and bugs indicating poor soil quality......My question is I recently repotted all of my houseplants because of little white bugs in my soil<non flying kind>....and before I have always used generic potting soil....so when i repotted this time i spent the money for Miracle Grow Professional Potting Soil....a supposably wonderful soil.....and still....The bugs have returned and there is white mold on top of my soil....though they do not seen to be hurting my plants...it is unsightly non the less....HOW can I get rid of these bugs for good..is there a spray to use??And what about the mold...since it is good soil am i overwatering??HELPPPPPPP!!!!!
