In some of my plants I have noticed that there are spots of lime green something on the top of the soil.  My son, bless his little heart, was playing and knocked over yet another plant, and I happened to notice that the green color is not only on the surface.  What might this be and how can I get rid of it if necessary, without having to transplant the lot?
